    The Denton County Health Department has released information concerning West Nile Virus prevention and identification.  As summer approaches, we encourage community members to read the following documents and take steps to reduce the risk of West Nile virus in our area.

  • 2012-13 School Calendar Modification
     
    An additional early dismissal day has been added to this year's school calendar to accomodate high school graduation.  Student's will now be dismissed early at 1:30 pm on both June 5th and June 6th, 2013.

  • 2013 PHS/PJH Yearbooks On Sale Now!
     
    You may now order copies of the 2012-2013 school yearbook, The Lion.  The cost of this full color publication is $35.  The deadline to order a yearbook is April 26, 2013.
     
    Three easy ways to order:

    1. Pick up an order form in the HS or JH Office
    2. Print an order form.  Return payment and order form to either:

    No personalization can be ordered after deadline.  Yearbooks ordered after the deadline of April 26, 2013, will be $40.00

  • New Student Registration Requirements

    If you are new to the Ponder community, the following items are needed to register new students to our school district:
    • Birth Certificate (official copy from county of birth -- hospital certificates are NOT official copies)
    • Immunization Records
    • Social Security Card
    • Report Card From Last School (not needed for Pre-K or Kindergarten)
    • Proof of Residence (utility bill, lease agreement, closing papers)

  • Recyling Bin Ponder ISD Implements Paper Recycling Program

    All three school campuses now have brightly-colored green and yellow bins for collecting paper products to be recylced.  Each campus will receive money every time their bin is filled.  The community is encouraged to bring qualified paper products from home and deposit them in our bins.  Paper products NOT accepted are corrugated cardboard, the covers of hardback books, and food-soiled items.  
     
    The bins are located in the following locations:
    • Elementary - South Parking Lot
    • Junior High - Shaffner Street
    • High School - SW Corner of Student Parking Lot
