• Softball PHS Bi-District Softball Playoffs
     
    The Lady Lions have advanced to the bi-district round of the softball playoffs.  They will play a best of three game series to determine who advances.  All three games will be held at Saginaw ISD's Chisholm Trail High School in north Fort Worth. (Directions To Game Site).  The schedule for the games will be:
    • Thursday, April 24 at 6:30 pm
    • Friday, April 25 at 5:00 pm
    • Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 am.

    Be sure to come out and cheer on the Lady Lions to victory!

    The Ponder High School/Ponder Junior High School yearbook is currently on sale, but you must act soon to secure yours.  The cost is $40 and the deadline to order is April 25, 2014.  There are two easy ways to order and pay.

  • PEF Golf Ponder Education Foundation Golf Tournament
     
    The Second Annual Ponder Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth.  The tournament, sponsored by Hutcherson Insurance Services, will feature UNT Head Football Coach Dan McCarney as the keynote speaker.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Ponder Education Foundation.

    Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Round-Up
     
    What is it?
    PK & K Round-Up is for children who will be attending pre-kindergarten or kindergarten the 2014-2015 school year.
     
    K -   Children must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2014
    PK - Children must be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2014 and meet eligibility requirements.
     
    When is it?
    May 6th, 7th and 8th ~ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

    May 8th ~ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
    During the 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm time, you may meet the teachers and view the classrooms.

    What items do I need to bring?
    • Original Birth Certificate (not hospital certificate)
    • Social Security Card
    • Current Immunization Shot Record
    • Proof of Residence (ie, utility bill, lease agreement, closing papers, etc.)

    What is the criteria for admittance to the PK program?  Qualification process will be done in August.
    • Child will be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2014
    • Child is a resident of Ponder ISD
    • Child meets immunization requirements and at least one of the following:
      •  Child is unable to speak & comprehend the English language  
      •  Child is economically disadvantaged   
      •  Child is homeless   
      •  Child is a family member of an active duty member of the armed forces of the USA  
      •  Child is/has been in the conservatorship of the Dept of Family & Protective Services

  • School To Be In Session on Bad Weather Make Up Days
     
    Ponder ISD will hold classes on Friday, April 18 and Friday, May 23 to make up for two of the days that were missed earlier in the school year due to the December ice storm.  These days were originally designated as "Bad Weather" days on the school district calendar so they could be utilized if needed.

  • Recyling Bin Ponder ISD Implements Paper Recycling Program

    All three school campuses now have brightly-colored green and yellow bins for collecting paper products to be recylced.  Each campus will receive money every time their bin is filled.  The community is encouraged to bring qualified paper products from home and deposit them in our bins.  Paper products NOT accepted are corrugated cardboard, the covers of hardback books, and food-soiled items.  
     
    The bins are located in the following locations:
    • Elementary - South Parking Lot
    • Junior High - Shaffner Street
    • High School - SW Corner of Student Parking Lot
