Ponder ISD Food Services

Effective Monday, May 13, 2013.

Students will no longer be able “to charge” or “go negative” for breakfast and or lunch.

Any lunch money sent will be applied to charges first.

This means if your child does not have enough money in their cafeteria account to pay:

For breakfast, they will get milk and a piece of toast.

For lunch, they will get milk and cheese sandwich.

Don’t worry about any extra money remaining on the cafeteria account it will carry over to next school year.

Visitors to the Ponder ISD website will find that menus and information relating to specific campuses are posted on that campus' website.  As a convenience, we have posted links to the cafeteria area for each campus below.

Ponder ISD offers the online EZSchoolPay service to the parents of PISD students. Parents are always welcome to check the account of their children at any time free of charge – there is no cost whatsoever associated with balance inquiries, viewing transactions history for the past 30 days and getting email alerts on balances. EZSchoolPay service also allows parents to make deposits to their account for a fee. This service is simply offered as a convenience for those parents who find it helpful.

As always, Ponder ISD will continue to accept deposits in the form of cash and checks. Payments can also be made at each cafeteria. At the Elementary payments can also be made to the classroom teacher.

The price for breakfast is $1.25 for all campuses

The price for lunch is $2.25 for Elementary and $2.50 for Jr. High and High School

The price for an adult breakfast is $1.75 - an adult lunch is $3.00

Charging meals should be used only in rare circumstances. Students are allowed to build a small negative balance (about the cost of 4 lunches). When a student’s account goes negative beyond the allowed amount, students will receive a piece of toast and milk for breakfast and a cheese sandwich and milk for lunch.

At the Elementary payment reminders are sent home when the account balance becomes low (less than $10.00), normally on Monday afternoon, to keep parents informed about each child’s cafeteria account balance. Students may charge up to $10.00 for meals only (no charging for extras). After they reach the charge limit, they can get the alternate meal for 3 days. After the third day, at the Elementary, they go to the office to call their parents for lunch money.

The Jr. High and High School’s charge limit is also $10.00. They are also given the alternate meal for three days.
