I am from Flower Mound, TX and I currently live in Denton with my two best friends/roommates and our dog. I love traveling, animals, and nature! I started teaching at Ponder High School in January 2017 and I absolutely LOVE it. My students here at PHS make it an absolute joy to come to work each day. :)
I've loved learning languages since I was a kid! I took Spanish for the first time when I was in 4th grade and I've been hooked ever since. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish with a minor in Teaching ESL from John Brown University. I learned Spanish in Mexico when I did a semester abroad there in 2007. I also spent a semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain in 2009, so I've experienced the best of both worlds! I served as an interpreter on several mission trips to Guatemala during college as well. On my summers off, I love to travel to new Spanish-speaking countries! I completed my Master's in Linguistics from UT Arlington in 2015. Language and working with kids have always been my two biggest passions, and I've finally figured out a way to combine them! I am so excited to be here at PHS. I really believe that this is what I was made to do.
