Hi! My name is Kayla Rose. I'm thrilled to begin my fifth year in education and my second year at Ponder Junior High as the Special Education teacher. I have the honor of starting the first ever drill team here at Ponder as well, the Ponder High School Legacies Drill Team. I am from a small town in Southeast Texas called Port Neches, Texas, but have lived in North Texas for the past 11 years. After graduating from the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!), I began my teaching career at Saginaw High School as the Assistant Drill Team Director and Dance teacher. The past two years I have had the privilege of teaching Special Education at Pike Middle School and was the cheerleading sponsor. I'm excited to get back into the small town where pride and tradition are everything!
My husband, Mitchell, is at Ponder as the Head Basketball coach and history teacher at the high school! We got married last summer in paradise (the beaches in Mexico!) and live in Krum. We are expecting our first child this fall (a baby girl named Andersyn!). We are also the proud parents of 4 fur babies names Lily (Italian Greyhound), Moka (Dachshund), Lola (English Bulldog), and Enzo (German Shepherd). I am a former Allen Americans Ice Angel and still enjoy teaching and dancing all over DFW. For the past 12 summers, I've travelled all over the country teaching dance camps.
I have a passion for education and the arts! I look forward to working together to help your child be successful throughout the year!
