School Involvement Compact
In order to achieve high standards of education we must develop and maintain a partnership between parents, students and school personnel. This compact promotes understanding and cooperation by clarifying mutual and separate responsibilities and expectations. We understand that a child's education will reach its potential only if all in the partnership agree and meet their responsibilities.
Ponder Junior High School will:
- Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards. Ponder Junior High
- Will provide the framework for high quality curriculum and instruction that enables the children to meet the State’s academic achievement standards.
- Will provide high quality instruction for students that is interactive, engaging, meaningful and appropriate and based on individual student learning styles and individual needs.
- Will provide a safe and protective learning environment for all students.
- Will set high expectations and provide motivation for all students based on the belief that all students can learn.
- Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Parent-teacher conferences are available to discuss the individual child’s achievement.
- Ponder Junior High will provide ongoing communication with all parents regarding student progress, school programs and testing results.
- Conferences will be scheduled at the request of a teacher or parent.
- Staff will be available for consultation with parents during a teacher’s conference period or before or after school.
- Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.
- The school will provide progress reports at the end of each 3-week grading period and a report card at the end of each nine-week grading period.
- We will provide parents with timely information regarding student performance and behavior.
