This is my sixteenth year at Ponder ISD. My teaching philosophy fits with the following quotation: " In general we retain 10 percent of what we read, 20 percent of what we hear, and 95 percent of what we teach someone else to do." So following that philosophy, I try to do as much hands-on learning as possible.
Some of my favorite quotes:
"Be yourself, that's all there is of you."-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success." Norman Vincent Peale
"Each time anyone comes into contact with us,
they must become different and better people
because of having met us.
We must radiate God’s love.
We must know that we have been created for greater things,
not just to be a number in the world,
not just to go for diplomas and degrees,
this work and that work.
We have been created in order to love and to be loved.
Love does not measure. . . it just gives."
"Minds are like parachutes-they only function when open." Thomas Dewar
"Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride. " Country singer, Gary Allan
