Mrs. Manning

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Manning

I am so pleased to be the principal of Ponder Elementary.   From the time that I was old enough to boss my little sister around, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. However, in all my pretend play as a kid, I never thought of myself as a principal (although the neighborhood kids might disagree because I used to gather them up for lessons in the summer!). I have been lucky to have many experiences and mentors in my career that made me believe that being an administrator was, indeed, in my path, and the past 3 years as an assistant principal in Denton, were some of my favorite years as an educator. In addition, to being an assistant principal, I have also been a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and an instructional coach.   I have a Masters in Reading Education from the University of North Texas, received my Principal Certification through Stephen F. Austin, and hold a Bachelors from Wayland Baptist University.

I have a heart to serve teachers and to give them a place and a space to grow into the best teacher they can be. I have heart for ALL kids- the ones that are built for school and do excellently and the ones that find school a struggle. I want every kid to think, "Ponder Elementary is a place for me."

I have been married to my husband, Troy for 21 years. We met in college at Wayland Baptist University (AKA: Wedding Bells University) and have been on this crazy journey of life ever since. We have one son, Hogan, who will be starting HS in the fall.
