About Me: I am starting my teaching and coaching career this year at Ponder! I am so excited to be here!! I am the assistant volleyball, basketball, and track coach. I am from Denton originally and graduated from Denton Ryan High School in 2017. I then went on to earn my Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Hardin-Simmons University where I played volleyball for 4 years! #GoCowgirls! I took a year from 2021-2022 to earn my Master's degree in Lifestyle Health Sciences and Wellness Coaching and began my alternative certification journey to teaching in 2022 and here we are! Guidelines for Success:

Be Prepared - Students come to class on time, follow the procedures

Be Engaged - Students remain focused and pay attention to class while in class

Be Respectful - Students will respect all ideas, opinions, and property of others

Make-up Policy: It is the student’s responsibility to turn in work on time and to make-up any work missed due to an absence of any kind. Students have one day per each day missed plus one additional day to turn in missed work. After those days have passed, the student will receive a zero for the work not completed.

Late Work: If an assignment is submitted after the due date, a penalty of 10 points to the max allowable score will be deducted per every class meeting until a satisfactory submission is made. A maximum of  30 points will be deducted from a late assignment before it becomes a zero. Late work will not be accepted past 5 days from the due date.

Reteach/Retake Policy: It is the goal of all PISD educators that every student reaches mastery of standards required by each course. A student may choose to redo an assignment or assessment they have scored below 80% if these conditions are met.

    1. The student must attend tutorials to complete the reteach/retake. Retakes may not occur during regular instructional time.
    2. The student has 3 days to complete the reteach/retake.
    3. The higher of the two grades will be recorded, with a maximum score of 80%.
    4. Students will have only one opportunity for each assessment they wish to retake.
    5. Cumulative 9 week exams do not qualify for the reteach/retake policy.

Technology/Cell Phones: The Ponder High School technology policy will be followed. Cell phones must be silenced and put away during the school day. Laptops and tablets must be charged and ready for academic use each class. It is the student’s responsibility to charge their devices at home.

Academic Dishonesty: The Ponder High School Academic Dishonesty policy will be followed.

Tardy Policy: The Ponder High School tardy policy will be followed.
