The Ponder High School pick up/drop off dates are May 13th for 12th grade students, and May 20th for 9th-11th grade students. Please see the below schedule for drop off/pick up times. Students will be required to wear gloves and masks to enter the buildings.
School personnel will monitor social distancing guidelines (minimum six feet) and avoid congregations of students. Please return items such as library books, textbooks, calculators, choir/band equipment, athletic equipment, as well as any other school issued property (excluding chromebooks). Seniors will need to return these items in addition to chromebooks and chargers.
We will have graduation cords and stoles ready for seniors to pick up on May 13th. The choir, band, and athletic facilities will be available for you to pick up and drop off equipment as well. If you have any questions, please contact the High School office at 940-479-8210.
Due to current state and local COVID-19 restrictions, Ponder High School Baccalaureate scheduled for Sunday, May 17th will be cancelled. However, the senior video will be included in the commencement exercises on May 19th @ 5pm at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Ponder High School Prom originally scheduled for May 9th will be rescheduled to a future date. It was the hopes of campus and district administration that restrictions would be lifted enough by this time for us to feasibly have prom. However, state and local restrictions do not permit Ponder High School to host prom in school facilities or at a local banquet location. More information in regards to prom will be released at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact the high school office at 940-479-8210.
In response to the venue change, Jostens is offering Graduation Announcement Inserts at no charge for you to include when mailing out your official graduation announcements to friends and family. Please complete this brief Google Form https://forms.gle/RsQ1FLceAgf5zzeDA by Saturday 5/2/2020 so we will know how many to print and bring to the school for a future drive-thru delivery. We will notify seniors who submit a request individually via email of the date, time and place for insert pick-up.
In compliance with Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order that was announced today at noon, the Ponder ISD facilities will remain closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Thank you for your patience this past week as PHS has worked with district administrators and campus staff to plan and train for providing online learning opportunities for our students. As we work through this process in the coming weeks, we will monitor and make adjustments where necessary. Working together allows us the opportunity to make the best, most appropriate decisions for our students, families, and staff members.
