The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently released updated A–F accountability ratings for school districts across the state from the 2022-2023 school year. While we believe in accountability and growth, we also know that one letter does not define a school district — and it certainly doesn’t define Ponder ISD.

During the 2022- 2023 school year, the rules changed mid-stream and without notice to school districts, resulting in a lawsuit. Those changes had an impact — not just here in Ponder, but across Texas. When the goalposts move while the game is still being played, it’s hard to see the full picture of the work, heart, and progress happening in our schools every day.

We want to be clear: we are proud of our students, our staff, and our community. The A–F system may offer one lens, but it doesn’t measure the relationships we build, the lives we shape, or the long-term impact we’re making.

At Ponder ISD, our mission is simple and strong: to serve, inspire, and empower students to achieve greatness and positively impact their world. Our vision — equipping tomorrow’s leaders… today — is what drives our work. And our belief in our students and staff? It's summed up in our motto: Made for Greatness.

We believe that. And we live it.
