At the June 30th PISD School Board meeting, Board of Trustees approved significant salary increases for teachers, librarians, nurses, and instructional coaches—up to $8,000 based on years of service. These increases were made possible in part by House Bill 2, passed by the Texas Legislature, which provides a Teacher Retention Allotment to fund tenure-based raises.
Additional salary adjustments were approved for paraprofessional, clerical, administrative, auxiliary, and professional roles to better align with market conditions. PISD will also continue to offer staff retention bonuses in November to show our appreciation!
