At the November Board Meeting, the Ponder ISD School Board and administration approved a pause on accepting new student transfer applications in alignment with Policy FDA (LOCAL). The pause takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice. Current transfer students will be grandfathered in, but must reapply each school year. Children of current and future PISD staff members, as well as siblings of currently grandfathered transfer students, may continue to apply for out-of-district transfers.
The decision supports the district’s ongoing efforts to monitor enrollment, maintain appropriate class sizes, and ensure that staffing and resources continue to meet student needs across all campuses.
Ponder ISD is currently reviewing enrollment and campus capacity. As this process continues, the district will share updates when appropriate. Information regarding the transfer process will be communicated through official district channels once next steps are determined.
