Ponder ISD is proud to announce that the district’s Finance/Business Services Department was recognized last night at the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Conference with the Award of Excellence in Financial Management. Ponder ISD is one of only 34 districts statewide to receive this distinguished honor.
The TASBO Award of Excellence highlights school systems that demonstrate strong financial practices, transparent reporting, and a commitment to high standards in fiscal management. This year’s recognition marks Ponder ISD’s fourth consecutive year to earn the award, reflecting consistent dedication and excellence from the district’s Business Services team.
In addition to the TASBO recognition, Ponder ISD has again been honored by the Texas Comptroller’s Office with all three available Transparency Stars—Traditional Finances, Debt Obligations, and Contracts & Procurement. These voluntary awards acknowledge districts that make financial data accessible and easy for the public to understand.
Ponder ISD is one of just 12 districts in Texas to receive all three Transparency Stars, and this marks the fifth year the district has achieved this level of recognition.
