FIRST - Superior Achievement Ponder ISD

PONDER, Texas: Ponder ISD has something big to celebrate! The district has earned an “A, Superior Achievement” rating through the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), the highest financial accountability rating a Texas school district can receive.

Ponder ISD received an impressive score of 98 out of 100, demonstrating the district’s strong financial management, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public funds.

This achievement reflects the thoughtful planning and sound financial decisions that happen behind the scenes every day. Most importantly, those decisions help Ponder ISD continue to focus resources where they matter most: our students, our staff, and our classrooms.

Chief Financial Officer Suzette Henderson shared her pride in the accomplishment and the team behind it.

“I'm very proud of our district and Business Services team for their hard work in this accomplishment through following the financial best practices of Ponder ISD,” Henderson said.

The outstanding rating is a reflection of the commitment of our Business Services team, district leadership, and Board of Trustees to keeping Ponder ISD financially strong and prepared for the future.

A 98 out of 100 is a huge accomplishment and another reason to be Ponder Proud!

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this achievement possible. Great things are happening in Lion Country!
